Project: American River Forest Restoration

Description: Grantee will thin and masticate approximately 1,600 acres of dense forest stands within the larger 6,768-acre Property over the Capital Improvement term of the Agreement. Grantee will reduce and eliminate conifer species encroaching meadows in the Project area, thereby enhancing meadow habitat. Thinning operations will be conducted with oversight by a forest ecologist and Registered Professional Forester. Thinning operations will increase the diversity of conifer species and age classes, resulting in a more heterogeneous and resilient forest.
