Project: Central Sierra Meadow Planning

Description: This project will complete environmental compliance, planning and permitting to restore 230 acres of mountain meadow at three sites: one in Yosemite, one in the Stanislaus National Forest, and one managed by both agencies. Together the three meadows support breeding populations of Great Gray Owl, Yosemite toad, foothill yellow-legged frog and possibly Willow Flycatcher. The resulting shovel-ready projects will restore 2 miles of deeply-downcut, perennial stream channel and 120 acres of meadow and protect 110 acres of healthy meadow from multiple advancing headcuts.
