In cooperation with CDFW, a grant to the Resource Conservation District of Mariposa County will assist with the restoration/enhancement of 1000 acres of forest habitat. The project will use strategic thinning to reduce fuel loads and prepare for interagency prescribed fire and conduct reforestation while also developing a climate-smart reforestation strategy for future projects. The project will also protect core wildlife connectivity habitat, protect streams and creeks from erosion, post-fire runoff and debris flows.
