Project: Implementation of SBX7-7 provisions / Water Conservation Act of 2009

Description: Funding for 10 new positions to implement urban and ag water conservation measures as mandated by SBX7-7, including: • Developing new urban water use reduction targets; • Providing incentives to promote implementation of the targets; • Update targets through Water Plan Update; • Develop technical methodologies for consistent implementation of the Act; • Review Urban Water Management Plans for compliance with the above requirements; • Develop quantification methodologies for agricultural water use efficiency and review Agricultural Water Management Plans for compliance with the Act; • Develop standardized forms for water use reporting; • Develop grant eligibility requirements; • Adopt regulations for commercial, industrial and institutional (CII) water use criteria; • Develop alternative best management practices for agriculture and for CII; • Adopt regulations for range of options to comply with section 10608.48(b)(1) of Water Code to measure the volume of water delivered; • Review and revise UWMP, Integrated Regional Water Management Plan, and other permitting requirements; conduct studies, and provide incentives; • Prepare periodic reports to the Legislature
