Project: Disadvantaged Community Assistance Pilot Program - Greater Los Angeles

Description: The Council of Watershed Health will develop a Disadvantaged Community (DAC) Outreach plan for the Greater Los Angeles County (GLAC) Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Group. The Disadvantaged Community Outreach Evaluation Program will develop a needs assessment framework and conducts targeted outreach to engage with disadvantaged communities (DACs) and gain their meaningful participation in the integrated regional water management process. The needs assessment will identify specific groups in each DAC who will engage with the GLAC-IRWM effort. Technical assistance will benefit DACs through development of projects that meet critical needs.

Objective: The DAC Pilot Project will assist DWR in developing methods to improve DAC participation throughout the State, as well as, develop methods to improve DAC participation in the GLAC IRWM plan, as set forth in the DWR IRWM Program Guidelines dated August 2010.
