Project: Geotechnical Investigation of Wildcat Creek and San Pablo Creek Levees

Description: Wildcat Creek and San Pablo Creek are two streams that adjoin watersheds in western Contra Costa County owned and maintained by Contra Costa Flood Control District (CCFCD). They have a common watershed and drain approximately 42 square miles. Combined, the geotechnical evaluation will study approximately 12,200 linear feet of levee.

Reference Number: 3860-P84-102

Implemented By: Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District

Objective: A levee geotechnical evaluation report is a primary document needed to fulfill the requirements of a Provisional Accredited Levee Agreement with FEMA and is also necessary to achieve levee certification. A geotechnical report will confirm that the levee system can contain the base water surface profile or identify at what level elevation the levee is likely to fail. It can also identify areas for improvement. The objective of this type of project is to produce such a report for each flood control structure evaluated.
