Project: Loch Lomond Vernal Pool Ecological Reserve Exchange

Description: Land Exchange of ±1 acres for the purpose of Vernal Pool Habitat under Land Acquisition Program in Lake county(ies). WCB has authority to dispose or exchange property for DFG under the Wildlife Conservation Law of 1947. The original property was acquired using non-bond funding through our Habitat Conservation Fund (HCF) to help create the Loch Lomond Vernal Pool Reserve (1995). The one acre portion in the exchange was determined to be excess to DFG (a vacant field area that was a portion of the one of the original acquisition parcels) and exchanged for a higher resource value parcel with vernal pools and assembled to the reserve. The funding provided was used cover the additional costs associated with acquiring the new parcel which was slightly larger.
