Project: Flood System Maintenance Policy and Procedures Development, Review, and Enforcement

Description: Evaluation of the entire State-Federal Flood Control System is needed to identify areas with chronic Operation and Maintenance (O&M) issues and action needs to be taken to correct the issues using enhanced O&M standards. There is a need to develop and evaluate more comprehensive and enhanced O&M standards for the facilities of the State Plan of Flood Control. These efforts will include addressing environmental protection and the enhancement and management of BMP's that include adaptive management approaches. The standards and guidelines will be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure FloodSAFE continually brings best-in-class practices and technologies to the State's flood management.
