The Upper Guadalupe River project consists of approximately 6 miles of channel improvements along the Guadalupe River between Interstate 280 to Blossom Hill Road in downtown San Jose. The construction of the Project includes channel widening, streambed erosion protection features, a river walk recreation trail, and improved vegetation, fisheries and wildlife habitats. The Project will provide 100-year flood protection for more than 7,500 homes and businesses as part of the larger flood protection plan for the entire watershed and the Guadalupe River Park Plan that is being developed by Santa Clara Valley Water District and the City of San Jose.
