Project: Lower San Joaquin Feasibility Study

Description: The objective of this study is to identify feasible alternatives and identify a project for congressional authorization and federal funding to reduce the risk of flooding and resulting damages along the Lower San Joaquin River and its major tributaries in the vicinity of Stockton, Lathrop and Manteca. The recommended project will incorporate the Smith Canal Closure Structure which is presently being designed under the State's Early Implementation (EIP) Program. Total project amount includes State support costs for project implementation.
