Project: Folsom Dam Modifications

Description: This project will involve construction of a 3,200-foot long auxiliary spillway having six submerged tainter gates. The Army's Corp of Engineers flood damage reduction components of the project are being implemented in partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamations' Dam Safety Program. Working together, the two agencies are constructing the formerly separate flood control and dam safety projects as a single Joint Federal Project (JFP) that meets the shared goal of a reduced risk of flooding in the Sacramento area in an expedited and cost-effective manner. Total project amount includes State support costs for project implementation.

Reference Number: 3860-P1E-040
