Project: Channel Maintenance Program-Project Development

Description: This project funds staff costs to evaluate flood conveyance capacity of various channels within the State Plan of Flood Control. Staff work includes channel surveys, hydraulic engineering and environmental analysis, and if determined necessary, work will progress to civil engineering design for new corridor management projects to be implemented under the Channel Evaluation and Rehabilitation Program. Any projects developed through this process are intended to extend the useful life of the flood conveyance channels by correcting and restoring capacity deficient channels to the required original design conditions to meet federal assurances for the flood protection system and ensure proper flood protection channel function during high water events.
