Objective: With the focus on pruning trees, Urban Tree Foundation expects that instructional workshops, the development of a BMP focused on structural pruning, cue cards for field use and a "train the trainer" instructural manual will help generate understanding of the benefits associated with structurally sound trees, resulting in reduced failures, reduced maintenance and it`s associated costs, and improved tree longevity. These benefits lead to more CO2 sequestration, better shading, and other recognized benefits that the urban forest provides to the environment.
