Funding for this project will be used to restore existing aspen stand and meadow areas, primarily through treating encroaching vegetation into those ecosystems. These vegetation treatments will also mitigate hazardous fuels buildup, restoring a more historically accurate fire regime. Activities to complete this Project will include project layout, pre-operations meetings, implementation oversight, implementation, monitoring, and public outreach and education.

Hand thin and hand pile, chip, or lop and scatter treatments of small diameter conifers will be utilized on all acres to improve forest health, decrease the risk of high severity wildfire, restore aspen hardwood communities, restore meadow ecosystems, and decrease forest vulnerability to climate change.
