Project: Sustainable Communities Planning Grants and Incentives - Infill Financing

Description: Communities often struggle to pay for the significant up-front investment in infrastructure and public facilities such as parks, streets, bicycle and pedestrian linkages, sewer and water systems, and parking garages that infill and TOD require to promote walking and bicycling, improve access to transit, and attract new private development. This project will focus on providing: 1) a quantitative assessment of modified, hybrid and new infill infrastructure funding and financing options, and 2) recommendations to the Strategic Growth Council for action to improve state, regional and local policies, programs and regulations to provide better access to infill infrastructure funding and financing tools.
