Objective: Conduct a controlled burn of the Core Marsh to remove excess vegetation and also target invasive species such as Tamarisk post-burn. The focus is to preserve and maintain watershed that is critical to federally listed species but also serves as an intermittent tributary into the Salton Sea. Thinning out the vegetation will enhance water supplies for endangered and threatened species that are negatively impacted by climate change.
