Objective: The NCRP 2019 Project Grant application seeks funding for the implementation of Priority Projects identified by the NCRP Policy Review Panel as having important local and statewide benefit, meeting statewide priorities and addressing NCRP Plan objectives. The NCRP regional goals and objectives are based on the state of water resources, climate change, watershed conditions and economic vitality of the region: Goal 1: Intraregional Cooperation & Adaptive Management Obj 1 - Respect local autonomy and local knowledge in Plan and project implementation Obj 2 - Provide an ongoing framework for inclusive intraregional cooperation Obj 3 - Integrate Traditional Ecological Knowledge in collaboration with Tribes into NCRP Projects and Plans Goal 2: Economic Vitality Obj 4 - Ensure that disadvantaged communities are supported Obj 5 - Improve the working landscapes and natural areas Goal 3: Ecosystem Conservation and Enhancement Obj 6 – Improve watersheds, including functions and habitats that support biological diversity Obj 7 - Enhance salmonid populations by enhancing habitats and watershed processes Goal 4: Beneficial Uses of Water Obj 8 - Ensure water supply reliability and quality for municipal, domestic, agricultural, Tribal, and recreational uses while minimizing impacts to sensitive resources Obj 9 - Improve drinking water quality and water related infrastructure with a focus on disadvantaged communities Obj 10 - Protect groundwater from over-drafting and contamination Goal 5: Climate Adaptation & Energy Independence Obj 11 - Address climate change impacts and vulnerabilities, including droughts, fires, floods, and sea level rise. Develop adaptation strategies for local and regional sectors Obj 12 - Promote local energy independence, water/ energy use efficiency, GHG reduction, carbon sequestration Goal 6: Public Safety Obj 13 - Improve flood protection and forest resiliency to reduce the public safety impacts.
