Description: County of Madera: Mountain Counties Funding Area (FA) and San Joaquin River Funding Area (FA) Automated Water Meter Sytems

Objective: Madera County plans to replace all of the existing water meters in the disadvantaged community of Indian Lakes with new Automated Water Meters (AWM) including the 474 improved units and 44 standby units, so the system will be completely metered and able to be monitored remotely by the County. The project will also also replace all of the water meter utility boxes. Specific project objectives include: (1) Provide increased water security and access to reliable clean, safe, and affordable water for personal and outdoor use; (2) Increase efficient use groundwater in preparation for climate change; and (3) Encourage more water conservation education activities by working collaboratively County staff and local resource conservation agencies Mountain Counties FA: Madera County Water and Natural Resources: Project 1 – Grant Administration for Indian Lakes Smart Water Meter Installation Project, and Project 2 – Planning, Design, and Installation of Smart Water Meter Units in Indian Lakes San Joaquin River FA: Project 1 - Providing for water meter installation within the City of Madera, Project 2 - Automating water meters at Parkwood in the County of Madera, Project 3 - Rehabilitating Wells at the Parksdale location in the County of Madera, and Project 4 - Providing grant administration for these projects
