Description: Conservation Easement of ±8230 acres for the purpose of Forest Habitat under California Forest Conservation Program in Shasta and Siskiyou Counties.

Objective: To acquire a forest conservation easement over 8,230± acres of land from the Roseburg Resources Company. The conservation easement will allow continued forest harvesting that will help sustain long-term timber production in the region while at the same time protecting the property from conversion to non-forest uses and enhancing the protection of the Upper Bear Creek watershed, an important native trout fishery and a major tributary to the Fall River. The Easement will also enhance protection of habitat areas supporting special status wildlife species and wildlife corridors, provide habitat connection and linkages with the neighboring Shasta-Trinity National Forest and allow for passive public recreational access and use.
