Objective: To acquire two privately-owned properties totaling 154± acres as the initial acquisition project for the Willow Hole Conservation Area, in Riverside County. A cooperative project with the USFWS, the CVCC, the Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB), and the California Department of Fish and Game, the acquisition project will allow for the protection of blowsand habitat essential for recovery of the fringe-toed lizard and protection from development that is occurring in the southern and western reaches of the Coachella Valley. This acquisition is part of the Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan and Natural Community Conservation Plan approved for the Coachella Valley portion of Riverside County
