Project: Proposition 1 Round 1 Mojave IRWM Grant

Description: Mojave WA: CO River and Lahontan FA

Reference Number: 3860-P01-358

Implemented By: Mojave Water Agency

Objective: Agencies within the Mojave Region (Lahontan), which over all is 60% DAC, with most of the local project sponsors being 100% DAC, share critical water challenges that include limited access to funding even with DAC status; operating in a closed basin with overall relatively little recharge resulting in supply and water quality challenges; impacts from climate change which impact demands and increase flash flooding; and the need to better manage the conjunctive use of local groundwater. These are critical needs/issues of the Region, and the proposals (excluding grant administration) within this proposal address each of these issues specifically.
