Project: Making the Most of the Urban Landspace: Habitat Restoration and Stormwater Banking for Coho Recovery and Watershed Health in the San Geronimo Valley

Description: The San Geronimo watershed is a high priority watershed for the federally endangered Central California Coast coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and the threatened steelhead (O. mykiss). This watershed has been degraded by urban development. Funding for this Project will be used to complete Intermediate (65%) Design Plans, which is a first phase of restoring anadromous fish habitat to the San Geronimo watershed.

Reference Number: 3600BQ2096006

Implemented By: Turtle Island Restoration Network (dba) Salmon Protection and Watershed Network

Objective: 1. Perform geomorphic and hydraulic analysis of conditions of San Geronimo Creek and stormwater infiltration 2. Complete 2D hydraulic modeling and site investigations to determine desired restoration conditions that will provide the best opportunities for salmonid habitat restoration and stormwater infiltration 3. Perform surveys needed to inform permitting and designs 4. Complete Intermediate (65%) Design Plans for 3 separate sites along San Geronimo and Larsen Creek 5. Complete Project permit applications
