Project: Sequoia National Forest Prioritized Meadow Restoration

Description: The purpose of this project is to restore properly functioning condition to degraded headwater systems. This will primarily be achieved by reconnecting historic remnant stream channels to the meadow floodplain, repairing incised channels, addressing conifer encroachment in the meadow, and thinning the forest meadow perimeter. Restoration implementation will reconnect the floodplain and return the meadow water table to historic condition, reducing stream bank erosion and improving riparian vegetation and forage.
