Project: City of Santa Monica Brackish Desalter Production Efficiency Enhancement Project

Description: The project is one component of a larger water supply expansion project to improve local water supply reliability. The City will modify reverse osmosis (RO) infrastructure and processes at the Arcadia Water Treatment Plant to enable the RO concentrate discharge to undergo additional treatment to extract additional potable water prior to discharge. This will enable the City to increase overall desalination efficiency (recovery) from 80 to 90 percent and obtain an additional 1,200 AFY of water from RO concentrate currently being discharged to the sewer system.
