Project: Napa River Rutherford Reach Implementation (Reach 8)

Description: Grant to the County of Napa to implement the restoration of Reach 8 of the Napa River. The almost 1-mile Reach 8 is located midway between Rutherford and Oakville Cross Roads. The restoration work completed included a floodplain bench, a bank stabilization and reduction area, large woody debris habitat structures, boulder clusters to create salmonid feeding lanes and velocity breaks, roughened-channel grade control structures, willow baffles, and rock toe protection. The project also included setback channel banks into donated vineyard land to provide a wider functional channel top width and increase the riparian corridor.
