In consultation with a conservator, this project proposes to carefully remove and salvage the original terracotta components preserving as much of the historic fabric as possible. The terminal ends and several mullion components from the terracotta column feature have deteriorated, cracked or are missing entirely. Lost components will be fabricated to closely match the original color and texture of the clay body using existing components. Exposed and deteriorated internal metal I-beams supporting the flange components and terminal ends will be treated and augmented as required. Window sashes will be sealed and painted with vitreous UV glaze added to the glass.
