Project: Pathogen Screening and Heath Status of Outmigrating Chinook Salmon in the California Delta

Description: The project will evaluate susceptibility to infection and disease progression in field deployed juvenile fall-run Chinook salmon. This project uses recently developed state-of-the-art tools (high-throughput pathogen screening) and approaches to evaluate disease progression, and assess habitat suitability for Central Valley salmonids, and will provide a greater understanding of interactions between stressors and managed species, with the ultimate goal of supporting management decisions towards species conservation and the implementation of specific habitat restoration actions.
