Project: West Stanislaus Irrigation District Fish Screen Project: West Crossing Construction

Description: The Project will provide a screened intake by isolating the existing unscreened intake listed in CDFW 2016 priority unscreened diversions. Funding will be use to construct the West Crossing structure to provide floodplain connectivity and wildlife passage between Lara Tract and Hagemann Tract located within the San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge and the Outfall Structure to support the development of the Fish Screen Project.

Objective: Specific objectives of this Project are to: • Provide wildlife connectivity between Lara and Hagemann Tracts within the San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge prior to constructing an state-of-the-art fish screen that meets National Marine Fishery Service and CDFW fish screen design requirements; • Provide floodplain connectivity between the Lara and Hagemann Tracts; • Improve vehicle access within the San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge; • Provides potential to deliver 2,000 acre-feet per year of water for wetlands through the Hagemann Turnout.
