Project: Sleepy Lagoon Planning Elements

Description: The project is proposed to develop a plan and preliminary design for the Sleepy Lagoon Historic Site, located along the Lower Los Angeles River Upper Reach 2 area in or within the vicinity of the City of Bell. Goals of the project include the identification of a site along the Lower LA River for a new, multi-benefit greenspace that contributes to the revitalization, that enhances and supports ecosystem restoration, and native plants to help treat and infiltrate stormwater and create a habitat while having the added benefit of highlighting the significant cultural events that took place at the site.
