Project: Surfers Point Project (Phase 2 planning)

Description: This project will complete all necessary final planning, design, engineering and construction documents for the Surfers Point Project Phase 2. Phase 1 is complete and Phase 2 is ready to be finalized for implementation. BEACON will coordinate and manage project. The City as subcontractor will lead final design, engineering pre-construction activities, using private consultants as necessary.

Objective: This planning project will produce all necessary final planning, design, engineering and construction documents for the Surfers Point Project Phase 2, so that Phase 2 construction and implementation can commence pending available funding. Phase 2 of this project will provide multiple benefits, focusing on long-term shoreline protection incorporating innovative natural coastal systems and a program of 'managed retreat.' In addition to relocation of public infrastructure out of the hazard zone, the project involves re-constructing natural coastal rocky cobble, beach, and dune system through a so-called living shorelines approach.
