The Pollock Remediation Planning Project will develop and evaluate remedial alternatives to respond to releases of hazardous substances in groundwater that are adversely affecting the beneficial use of groundwater at wells in the Pollock Wellfield. The Pollock Planning Project will leverage existing data that has been collected by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and others, as well as new data, if needed. The planning project will not seek to respond to contamination being addressed by other response actions by LADWP or others, but the planning will consider such other actions in its analysis as appropriate. The Project also includes the development of a Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Report (RI/FS) in accordance with the National Contingency Plan (NCP) as published by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and USEPA guidance. This Project is one part of the larger San Fernando Groundwater Basin (SFB) Remediation Program.
