Project: California Coastal Trail Major Mile Marker Grant - City of Santa Monica

Description: Grant to the City of Santa Monica for $20,000 for the purpose of installing two Coastal Trail Major Mile Markers (CTM) within the City. As part of the Conservancy’s efforts to promote the California Coastal Trail, the Conservancy will offer grants to local governments to install these markers at key locations within the alignment of the California Coastal Trail. The Conservancy anticipates that there will be at least one CTM in each coastal county, and in some cases as many as 3. The CTMs, which are designed to be about 5 feet in diameter and indicate the distance to Oregon and Mexico from each of the CTMs, will be set into existing, paved California Coastal Trail segments.
