The Project will divert at minimum 95 AFY of urban runoff and storm water from Bandini Channel that flows into the Los Angeles River, provide treatment, and either infiltrate or use the treated runoff for irrigation. An urban orchard with 300 trees and a community garden will also be constructed. The project will reduce zinc concentrations in the LA River, recharge groundwater, improve air quality, and provide a public green space.
