This Project will be located at Gates Canyon Park, an existing 8.2-acre park located within a residential portion of upper Malibu Creek Watershed. The Project which will capture stormwater and dry weather flows and will be designed to capture and infiltrate up to the 85th percentile 24-hour stormwater volume of 3.1 acre-feet from the 105-acre watershed at Gates Canyon Park. The stormwater will be diverted from an existing storm drain at the park to a Hydrodynamic Separator then into an underground cistern. A pump well will be installed at the cistern with two pumps. One pump will convey stormwater through an ozone generator and ultra-violet treatment to be used for irrigation of the park and the other pump will be used to divert stormwater to infiltration wells for groundwater recharge. The Project is expected to capture 12,401,887 gallons of stormwater runoff for an average rainfall year.
County of Los Angeles
