Project will include capacity building efforts (such as educational workshops), water quality sampling, and a water meter assessment.
Contra Costa Water District
Project aims to build sustainable and meaningful DAC engagement in regional water management activities. The goal is to encourage engagement in IRWM efforts via community outreach and education, which applies directly to the desired outcomes listed in the DACI RFP. Project will perform water quality sampling to low income households in the region relying on individual pivate wells that do not have the resources to monitor themselves, as portions of the Madera region that have elevated concentrations of arsenic, nitrate, and TCP. Project will also demonstrate need for a well sampling program, and the program will be developed for inclusion in the Madera IRWMP project list. Water Metering will promote water conservation and associated cost savings for DACs.
