Project: Elkhorn Slough Tidal Marsh Enhancement - Implementation

Description: Grant to the Elkhorn Slough Foundation to restore 61 acres of tidal wetland and 5 acres of upland habitat at Minhoto-Hester marsh, in the southern area of Elkhorn Slough. The restoration involves completed placing sediment on existing mudflats in order to raise subsided land to the elevation necessary to enable formation of tidal marsh. The proposed project is the first phase in a larger effort to restore at least 147 acres of tidal marshes and perennial grassland in Elkhorn Slough.
