Grant to the Humboldt County Resource Conservation District to redesign and implment in 2018 and 2019 the upper and final portions of the Salt River Ecosystem Restoration Project. The redesign will include topographic mapping, streamflow and turbidity monitoring, hydraulic analysis and engineering to finalize the channel dimensions, profile and alignment. Implementation elements iwill include excavation, sediment off-haul, and riparian plant installation. Redesign for the final project reach is required because of deposition of sediment and channel avulsion that occurred following the extensive flooding in the 2017 winter storms.
