The project will complete hand and mechanical thinning actions on 454.9 acres of Wildland Urban Interface characterized by overcrowded mixed-conifer forests with high ground and ladder fuels to reduce the average number of trees per acre, resulting in forest conditions that will allow regular under burning, maintaining desired conditions in perpetuity.

To restore water security in the Feather River Watershed, contributing to a forest resistant to catastrophic fire, with defensible space around the WUI community, and decreased groundwater demands –safeguarding the unique wetland areas of the project and benefitting downstream water users throughout the state of California.
