Project: Northwest Levee Improvement and Stone Road Levee Seepage Project (BI-17-1.0-SP), District BIMID Bethel Island

Description: The proposed project will improve 24,000 feet (4.55 miles) of levee, between Stations 0+00 and 130+00 along Taylor Slough, and Stations 340+00 and 450+00 along Dutch and Sand Mound Sloughs. The work along Taylor Slough will be based on the Bulletin 192-82 template, and will consist of the placement landside fill, levee crown raising, and some waterside slope revetment. The work along Dutch and Sand Mound Sloughs will consist of the installation of landside toe drains to address seepage issues. The project will also include the establishment of 4,500 feet of habitat enhancement, consisting of shaded riverine aquatic on the waterside, and scrub shrub and riparian forest on the landside.
