Objective: The OWA FSR Project is a multi-benefit project featuring flood control, ecosystem restoration and recreation improvements. In addition to flood control related weir improvements, the project will degrade a section of the existing dike to reconnect the Feather River to approximately 400 acres of historic floodplain. The project also incorporates invasive species removal, new riparian restoration plantings and floodplain grading modifications to enhance fish passage and to improve wetland and fish rearing habitat. The project also includes the construction of new recreational footbridges and grading work to provide new kayak/river access, public parking, and site access improvements.
