Project: Redwood Creek Enhancement Planning

Description: Plan, Study, Etc. for the purpose of Stream Flow Enhancement under Stream Flow Program in Humboldt county(ies).

Reference Number: 36402018009

Implemented By: Salmonid Restoration Federation

Objective: This planning proposal will create an implementable plan for improving dry season streamflows in Redwood Creek, a South Fork Eel River sub-basin that is crucial to the recovery of threatened and endangered steelhead and salmon. Our approach will be modeled on Sanctuary Forest’s Water Stewardship Program in the Mattole River headwaters and build on ongoing work by the project team in Redwood Creek. Through this project, low flow monitoring will be conducted for three years, dry season storage/forbearance actions will be promoted in critical areas through outreach and technical assistance, and the most suitable locations for large-scale groundwater recharge projects will be identified and assessed.
