Project: Cook and Butcher Fish Passage and Fish Screen Planning Project

Description: This project is necessary to address two key factors that have led to anadromous fishery decline on the Sacramento River and its tributaries: Impediments to spawning adults to reach quality spawning habitat during upstream migration and; Direct mortality due to entrainment of outward bound juveniles. Funding will be use to develop a shovel ready project that will: • Improve upstream passage of salmon and steelhead adults in Cow Creek and its tributaries from the Sacramento River to natural barriers, and • Improve downstream passage of juvenile salmon and steelhead in Cow Creek and its tributaries from natural barriers to the Sacramento River.
