"The MUSD does not have adequate source capacity to meet its highest maximum day demand over the last ten years. Per the Inspection Findings letter from Mendocino District Office, Division of Drinking Water, to the Mendocino School District, dated August 23, 2016, the combined source capacity from the existing Well Nos. 01 and 02 (6.5 gallon per minute (gpm) and 4 gpm) do not meet the highest maximum day demand over the last ten years (17.7 gpm).
This planning project will address the inadequate source capacity and treatment deficiencies in MUSD’s public water system. The planning project will evaluate existing facilities and identify infrastructure improvements to meet the drinking water standards. It will also drill a test well to identify a new source within the School District’s property. The project includes the followings: developing plans and specifications for a test well, drilling a test well, preparing a test well report, developing 60% and final plans and specifications for the selected construction project, and preparing environmental documentation.
