Project: Bell Gardens City Well No. 1 Improvements - Planning Project

Description: The City of Bell Gardens currently serves the community though a single groundwater well (Well No. 1) and a single connection to imported water from MWD. The well originally provided 3,000 gpm but now can only produce 900 gpm. This forces the city to purchase costly imported water. The residents, who are severely disadvantaged, cannot afford the costly imported water. The proposed project will replace the existing well pump to increase pumping capacity to 1,500 gpm, clean and redevelop the existing well, construct a new 2.0 million gallon reservoir and construct a new booster pump station. This project will greatly help the residents of the City of Bell Gardens who are worried about their drinking water supply.
