Project: Torrance City Airport SW Infiltration Final Design - Planning Project

Description: Goal: The Project will complete the design plans to install an underground infiltration basin to capture, infiltrate, and treat a minimum of two hundred (200) AFY of urban storm water, augment groundwater recharge, and help reduce storm water impacts to Machado Lake. Purpose: The Project is part of an implementation plan to reduce trash, toxins, and nutrients in Machado Lake. Key Components: The Project Specific Planning will conduct geotechnical analysis,groundwater model results, hydrology study, and preliminary design memorandum. The Project will complete CEQA for the implementation of the project. The Project will be designed to include capture, treatment, and infiltration of storm water and dry weather runoff collected from a minimum of 700 Acres of contributing drainage area. The design shall include an underground infiltration gallery holding a minimum of 19 AF of water and a pre-treatment system to capture debris and sediment before the infiltration gallery.
