Project: South San Diego Bay Restoration

Description: Restoration of 257 acres of currently active solar salt ponds to a range of tidal habitats, from subtidal to high salt marsh at the southwest end of San Diego Bay. Specific activities include breaching of levees to restore tidal circulation, dredging of material from within the ponds and redistribution of the dredged materials to create appropriate elevations for marsh habitats.
