Project: Lake County Soda Bay Water System Improvements - Construction Project

Description: The WTP has two antiquated ozone generators that we can no longer acquire parts for. One unit failed approximately 5 years ago and staff has been scavenging parts off of it to keep the remaining unit functional. The second unit failed in December and we do not have the needed parts to make it operational again. We are able to make compliant water, however the process requires frequent and multiple backwash cycles wasting significant water which needs to be trucked off site for disposal. As summer approaches the lake chemistry will become even more difficult to treat without ozone increasing the waste water quantity even more. Additionally the system has a tank which has started leaking quite dramatically. The slab which the tank sits on is also being undercut by the runoff and the tank should be lined to eliminate the loss of potable water. The leaking tank has generated numerous calls from the public concerned about the water loss while they are in a conservation mode. We propose to replace the Ozone units and line the tank to address these issues.
