Project seeks the replacement of asphalt with permeable pavers, preparation of space for planting of native plants and shrubs, and establishment of bio-swale at the parking lot median to capture stormwater. Project aims to decrease impermeable surfaces and runoff, and enhance opportunities for stormwater infiltration management. The plan includes perimeter landscaping utilizing California native plants to create habitat areas for wildlife and birds. The proposed project is located at Lynwood Park adjacent to the Lynwood Youth Center and Lynwood Middle School. To take advantage of this location, this project aims to provide an integrative learning tool for children and teens to learn more about habitat restoration, water conservation, erosion-control and stormwater management.
