Project: Modoc Plateau Meadows Assessment and Restoration Design Project

Description: The Project is to identify, assess, and prioritize meadows in the Upper Pit River Watershed for restoration across land ownership categories. The Pit River is one of the major rivers in the Cascades contributing 20 percent of the water in the Sacramento River, making the Upper Pit River Watershed an important headwaters region. Specific goals of this project are to restore ecological function of degraded meadows in the Upper Pit River Watershed and expand the scope of meadow restoration to include federal lands. These goals will be achieved through coordinated activities by the Grantee to identify, assess, and prioritize meadows and prepare for restoration implementation on three high-priority meadows in the watershed.
