Project: Tulare/Kern Funding Area: Proposition 1 DAC Involvement Program

Description: Perform Grant Administration, including project management and a final funding area wide needs assessment report. Develop a regional involvement program (DAC Engagement and Education Program) that will build understanding of DAC needs and the IRWM process and will encourage DAC participation and engagement in IRWM Activities. Arrange and attend third party facilitation activities. Conduct a Needs Assessment to provide a better understanding of the water management needs of DACs in the Funding Area. Organize Project Development activities to select and fund multiple projects benefiting DACs, based on the outreach and needs assessment findings.

Objective: 1) Work collaboratively to involve DACs, community-based organizations, and stakeholders in IRWM Planning efforts to ensure balanced access and opportunity for participation in the IRWM Planning process; 2) Increase the understanding and, where necessary, identify the water management needs of DACs on a Funding Area basis; 3) Develop strategies and long-term solutions that appropriately address the identified DAC water management needs.
